ABOUT THE ARTIST
Christine Zecca Caltabiano has been immersed in art since an early age. Her education began at 8 years old, when her parents noticed creativity and enrolled her in oil painting classes at a local art school near her hometown of Philadelphia.
A dedicated pupil of her high school's strong art program, Christine not only received academic scholarships from every college to which she applied, but her comprehensive art portfolio garnered scholarship recognition as well.
Christine received her formal training from the Pennsylvania State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual Art, her concentration Painting. She also holds a minor in Art History, where she focused on the Italian Renaissance period. She is a multi-disciplinary artist who has created within different media, such as graphite, watercolor and photography.
After nearly 15 years in New York and her beloved Brooklyn, Christine relocated and decided to test out her informal handyman skillset, learned in part from her father. She dovetails elbow grease with design expertise to create rooms that are practical yet lively and fresh.
Resourceful, authentic, a little bit scrappy: she welcomes honest characterizations like these, looking to elevate genuine parts of life with her sharp eye. From miniature wearable creations to home renovation projects, her goal is to connect people with their own everyday world and start a conversation with others.
Aside from making art, she enjoys reading, traveling and obsessing over her next bite. Music is never far from her ears. Christine lives near Trenton NJ with her cute husband and two senior rescue dogs.
